MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER

ADIL BHATTI

I have been photographing for twenty years, on four continents, and I still get a kick out of it.

Most photographers pick one thing and stay there. I never could. Watches, cars, homes, people, food. It turns out they are not that different once you learn what makes each one look good, and shooting all of them made me better at every one.

I work alone, out of Manalapan, NJ. That means the person you text is the person who shows up at your door and the person who edits every photo afterwards. Nothing gets handed to an assistant.

I will come to you anywhere in New Jersey, and into New York City. If it is a watch, just mail it to me and I will send it back insured.

One of my photographs appears in the published photo book of Kurono Tokyo, the watch brand founded by the independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka.

They asked, I said yes, and it remains the credential I am most pleased with. In watch circles it means rather more than anything I could say about myself.

HOW I WORK

THREE THINGS THAT DO NOT CHANGE

A fixed price in writing before anything is booked. Every rate is published on the site, so you can work out what something costs without contacting anybody.
The photographs are honest. Wear on a watch, a mark on a car, a room that is smaller than the neighbours. Flattering pictures that misrepresent something only move the disappointment further down the line.
You own what you get. A full licence, forever, for anything you want to do with the images.

Outside of photography I am writing a novel, which I mention only because people generally find it more interesting than anything about cameras.
