Sales tax. Prices shown do not include New Jersey sales tax. Where sales tax applies, it is added to your invoice at the current New Jersey rate of 6.625% and shown as a separate line.

TERMS

HOW BOOKING AND PAYMENT WORK

These terms apply to every booking. They are written plainly so there is nothing to argue about later.

  1. Quote. You receive a written quote before anything is booked. It states the service, the price, the travel fee, the number of edited images and the delivery date. The figure in the quote is the figure on the invoice.
  2. Deposit. A deposit of half the quoted total holds your date. The deposit is part of the total, not an extra charge. The deposit is not refundable.
  3. Balance. The remaining half is due on delivery of the images. For weddings, the full balance is due before the wedding day.
  4. Payment method. By card, through an invoice or payment link sent to your email. The name on your card statement will be Alpha Leonis Production Studio LLC.
  5. Sales tax. Every price on this page is quoted before tax. Where New Jersey sales tax applies, it is added to your invoice at the current rate of 6.625% and shown as a separate line, so you always see it plainly.
  6. When the clock starts. On any booking priced by the hour, the clock starts at the arrival time agreed in your quote. It runs continuously from that moment, including breaks. It does not pause if you are running late.
  7. Going over time. Each additional hour is charged at the rate shown for that service. Any part of an hour is charged as a full hour.
  8. What edited means. Every delivered image is corrected for exposure, colour, white balance, contrast and saturation. This is included in every price. It does not include retouching skin, removing objects or people from a photograph, or changing what was in front of the camera.
  9. Image count. The number shown for each package is the number of fully edited images you receive. Raw files are not delivered.
  10. Delivery. Images are delivered within 5 to 7 business days. Rush delivery is available at $200 for every 20 images or part of that.
  11. Changing the date. One change is free with at least 7 days notice, or 14 days for weddings and events. Inside those windows, or for any second change, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit is required to rebook.
  12. Cancelling. The deposit is not refundable. If you cancel before the shoot, you owe the deposit and nothing more. Not appearing on the day is treated as a cancellation with no notice.
  13. Weather. If weather makes an outdoor shoot impossible, it moves to another date at no charge, regardless of notice.
  14. Refunds after delivery. Once images have been delivered, the fee is not refundable. Photography is a service and the time has been spent.
  15. Licence. You receive a full licence to use your images anywhere, for as long as you like, with no expiry and no extra fee. Copyright remains with the photographer.
  16. Adding work on the day. Extra services can be added if time allows, at the published rate, confirmed in writing before the extra work begins.
PRICING QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NUMBERS

When does the clock start on an hourly booking?
At the arrival time agreed in your quote. It runs continuously from that moment, including any breaks, and it does not pause if you are running late.
What happens if the shoot runs longer than the hours booked?
Each additional hour is charged at the rate shown for that service. Part of an hour counts as a full hour. Fifteen minutes over is charged as one hour.
What does edited mean?
Exposure, colour, white balance, contrast and saturation are corrected on every delivered image, and that is included in every price. It does not include retouching skin, removing objects or people, or altering what was in front of the camera.
Which square footage figure decides my property tier?
The figure on the property tax record, or the figure your real estate agent provides. If the property turns out to be larger than the figure given when booking, the higher tier applies and the difference is added to the invoice.
Is the deposit part of the total or on top of it?
Part of it. The deposit is half of the total quoted, and the remaining half is the balance. It is not an extra charge.
Is the travel fee charged once or per day?
Once per visit. A booking that requires two separate visits carries the travel fee twice. A multi-day wedding carries it once per day.
Do you charge a travel fee for watches and products?
No. Watch, jewelry and product photography carries no travel fee at any distance, because the pieces are shipped to the studio rather than photographed on location.
Can I add a service on the day of the shoot?
Only if time allows, and only at the published rate. It is added to the invoice and confirmed in writing before the extra work begins, so nothing appears on your bill that you did not agree to.
What is included in the image count?
The number shown is the number of fully edited images delivered. Additional frames are taken during every shoot but are not delivered. Raw files are not delivered.
What happens if I cancel?
The deposit is not refundable. If you cancel before the shoot takes place, you owe the deposit only and not the balance. If you do not appear on the day, it is treated as a cancellation with no notice.
Can I move my booking to a different date?
One change is free with at least 7 days notice, or 14 days for weddings and events. Inside those windows, or for any second change, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit is required.
What if it rains on an outdoor shoot?
The shoot moves to another date at no charge, regardless of how much notice there is. Weather is not treated as a cancellation by either side.
